In terms of the systematic classification of the mint plant, it is a genus belonging to the family of the mint family with countless subspecies. In contrast, menthol is an organic compound: a monoterpene alcohol. In nature, it is found in the oil of certain mint species (e.g. peppermint – mentha piperita, or field mint – mentha arvensis), in an amount of approximately 50-60%. At room temperature, it forms colorless, needle-shaped crystals. The compound has an odor and taste reminiscent of peppermint oil. At higher temperatures, the crystal sublimates slightly and is barely soluble in water (various alcohols, however, dissolve it well).
Regarding the mechanism of action of the menthol crystal, when mixed with water and then applied to the stove stones, it is released into the air in large doses through microcrystals (microscopic crystals), which precipitate on the skin of the guests, moderately irritating it and activating our cold-sensing receptors. It is important to note that the temperature of the skin does not actually change. However, it is inhaled into the lungs. It can be easily washed off the skin with soapy water after sauna use.
Packaging: 25 g
Recommended use: Place 2-3 menthol crystals in a plastic bottle, then add warm water and shake well until completely dissolved. Sprinkle any amount on the sauna stones while sauna use.
